Ankle pain can be frustrating because progress is not always a straight line.
Some days your ankle feels better. Other days it flares. You feel fine during an activity, then sore later that day or the next morning.
That is why we use EVO’s 10-Step Recovery Checklist.
Think of recovery like building a skyscraper. You cannot skip the foundation and expect the top floors to hold.
Your body works the same way. Before you run, lift, compete, or get back to what you love, it needs the right qualities built in the right order.
So we break your recovery into steps, built in that order. Every step has the same three parts.
The specific quality we’re building.
The treatment, training, or exercise we use to build it.
The checkpoint that proves you’re ready to move on.
You move through the steps in order. Pass a step’s test, and you move forward. Can’t pass it yet? That’s not failure. We’ve found the exact thing that still needs work, so you stay there, build it, and retest when you’re ready.
Every step tells us where you are, what’s holding you back, and what needs to happen next.
Every step is driven by what we measure, not what we assume.
You move forward when your body is ready, not when a calendar says so.
We build each quality before we ask more of it.
Work through the steps in order.
Each card shows what we’re working on, what we track, and the test that tells us when you’re ready to move forward.
You may not need every step. Your finish line depends on your goal. Walking comfortably is different than returning to running, jumping, cutting, or sport.

The tests, thresholds, and outcome measures behind the clinician view are drawn from the following literature.
Recovery is built one step at a time.
Every step builds a quality that supports the next.
The goal isn’t to do more, it’s to build the capacity to handle more.
The right thing at the right time beats more things, faster.
Being pain-free isn’t the finish line, being prepared for life is.
That’s the point of the process. You shouldn’t have to guess your way through recovery. If you’re not assessing, you’re guessing.
Pain is only one piece of the puzzle. Sometimes the missing piece is mobility. Sometimes it’s strength, balance, power, endurance, or the ability to move with control and confidence again.
